A living visual world—color, exchange, movement, and the rhythm of the street—sets the atmosphere around Shaga’s monochrome work. The mural accompanies the gallery without pretending to be one of her paintings.

Selected works
What comes first—the image or the idea? For Shaga, neither arrives fully formed. When brush meets paper, the work discovers itself through motion: one mark calls for the next, and meaning gathers along the way. The process becomes the art; the art remains a record of the process.

In the making
A supplied process still shows painting outdoors at ground level: broad tools, black pigment, open air, and a large sheet that invites movement from the whole body.
